Internet Traffic Agent

Logs are created for every website you visit, but finding those logs on the hard drive can be difficult. If you wish to keep an eye on your Internet traffic or see how much bandwidth is consumed by other users on your network, you can use Internet Traffic Agent to retrieve this information. The software provides daily statistics regarding visited addresses, sent and received packets and much more. It can monitor your own traffic or the traffic of other users.

The software is free to try for a limited period of time, after which you must buy a license. It should not take long to download and install Internet Traffic Agent on your computer. Besides the software itself, the setup wizard will suggest installing WinPcap 4.1.2, which is needed to run the program.

You may create more than one traffic filter on the main user interface. To help you get started, the software comes with a few predefined filters, for Internet, local, HTTP and FTP traffic. Filters are displayed in a list, along with a series of statistics, like addresses, sent, received and total packets. A breakdown of the captured IP addresses and host names is displayed in a different list, in the lower region of the interface, where you can see the sent and received packets for individual addresses.

Each filter can be paused or resumed at any time, with different options, located on the program's toolbar. Other options can be used to create new filters and to remove or edit existing ones. New filters are defined on a separate window, on which you must target a host, by its IP or MAC address or target your own computer. You can also set up IP and port filters, on the same window, but on different tabs. The software can be set to include or exclude one or more IP addresses, IP ranges or Subnet masks.
